5 Weeks and counting....

Hello out there!

So sorry that we are not keeping up on our Blog very often, if at all. We are still moving right along though. Tons of stuff going on! I am sorry for not taking the time to update you all.

Quick Fun facts:

  • 6/14 - AWESOME Baby Shower at my Aunt Val's house. Terrifc food and turn out! Thank you everyone who attended and helped out!
  • 6/21 - Last day of school. Yahoo! Got an A. Go back again next year. I have about 5 classes left...

A funny story:

On Friday June 6th, I needed to take the Cat & Dog, other kids, to the Vet at 8 AM. Larry had just left for work and I had heard some water running in the basement. I listened for the water to make a mental note to make sure I watch the laundry. But it didn't sound like laundry! Uh-Oh!

I ran downstairs and to my dismay our water heater was gushing water all over the basement. (good times...) I did what I could to get stuff off the floor and out of the way and ran upstairs to try to reach Larry before he got all the way to work.

Using my cell phone, all Larry could hear on his end was, "Come home - Hurry - water - exploded"

Needless to say, he thought my water had broken and we needed to get to the hospital ASAP. Luckily I was able to get a moment of better reception and was able to tell him that the water heater was the issue, not "my water heater." ;)

Larry came home and being the AWESOME handy man that he is, put in a new water heater all by himself. (with a little phone consultation with Chad Dehn)

So... I am off to the Vet with the "kids." I come home and give Larry the health update on the Dog and Cat. Blue is a little over weight (shocker... bad Mom) and Chandler needs to be put under to have his teeth cleaned. Larry heard that we would have to put Chandler "down."

So, not only was this the day my water broke, but we would have to put our beloved cat to sleep as well.... LOL!!

I guess that put the whole water heater breaking into perspective, huh? No such a big deal!

Otherwise, we are doing okay. Our yard looks like hell this year, but we just aren't as focused there.

The baby's room is coming along. The floors are beautiful and we have picked out the paint. No worries about fumes. We are officially going green with a No VOC option from Sherwin Williams.

"Harmony is a natural choice for environmentally preferred interior paint. It is low-odor allowing you to immediately move into your newly painted spaces. It contains less solvents and zero-VOC's (volatile organic compounds) so what is emitted into the air is more environmentally friendly." http://www.sherwin-williams.com/do_it_yourself/sherwin_williams_products/green/

This will enable me to be able to paint the room too and the baby should not suffer any side effects from latent fumes when he arrives. Pretty cool, huh?

My mom, Colleen, is coming along with the Mural. I have seen her sketch! It is amazing what this woman can do!! The mural itself will be 11 ft x 5.5 ft which will take up most of one wall in the baby's room. Once it is up and ready we'll post pictures for you all.

I am doing okay... getting ready to be done, but would like to have the upstairs completed VERY SOON!!! Larry is aware... trust me... :)

School is over for now. I aced my last class, so that is a good feeling. It is nice to be able to just veg out when I get home rather than have to do homework or worry about work.

Work is starting to catch on that I am not going to be around for a while and they are starting to take over my duties, which is another relief. I will probably be asked to help out some when I am gone, but I expect that. They will take good care of me. They always do! ;)

This week:

  • Brian, Julie and the kids in town from Colorado. Staying at our place until Wednesday morning. FUN!!!

  • Paint Baby's areas - Thursday

  • 4th of July celebration with Kennedy's - Friday

  • Finish Baby's area?? - Saturday/Sunday

Love you all!

Joy, Larry, JJ, Blue & Chandler
